Teitreph
is the artist’s name of Henning Pertiet – internationally
known Blues, Boogie Woogie & Jazz pianist – for his explorations
in improvised and electronic music.
Teitreph
uses a wide range of musical and technical possibilities
as he owns all the technical environment one needs to produce
this kind of music – for example one of the greatest HipHop
machines of all times - the Akai MPC, a Moog Synth, a real
Celeste, guitars, piano and many others.
On the other hand he has the ability to make groovy kinds
of music out of literally everything – just give him an
old piano or keyboard and he surely beats out some notes
you’ll be glad to hear… (listen to his CDs of Blues & Boogie)
He’ll also play on any bassguitar (or even double bass)
or just two pieces of old wood could be enough for making
a tone or a rhythm that would easily be used in a new tune.
Teitreph
also listened to Pete Rock and especially J Dilla (aka Jay
Dee) the great HipHop Producers and has absorbed their skills
in remixing almost anything that has a tone – especially
old Jazz and Soulrecords.
In his main business Teitreph is a professional pianist
in the genre of Blues & Boogie Woogie and he has earned
a good reputation all over Europe – as a soloist or a member
of Austria’s Mojo Blues Band.
He also had
a hit back in 1998 when he and the band recorded a tune
together with US saxophone player and singer Red Holloway:
'Take A Train,
Train' entered the charts in South Carolina and was played
all over the country for months.
In
2011 Henning Pertiet is nominiated for the
GERMAN BLUES AWARD!
